Light a Candle
On November 10th, 1975, Jerome Johnson Sr. affectionately known as “Cortez” was born to Jerome "Bunny” Johnson and Juanita Johnson Jones. Throughout his life Cortez could best be described as a one of a kind genuine person with a pure heart. He could not always give you what you wanted or asked for, but he always gave you what he had. He gave you his time, he gave you his love, and he gave you all of him. Cortez fiercely loved his family, especially his children who described him as a person who allowed them to be who they were and explore the world for themselves. He never missed an opportunity to speak about how much he loved his children, his family, his friends, and his untouchable 1992 Acura Legend. On Saturday, August 20th, 2022, Cortez quietly and peacefully departed this life leaving to cherish his memory a wealth of friends and family. Cortez will truly be missed.
